Russell Gullo – President
Gullo’s Garden Center is the vision of owner Russell Gullo. After years on the Clinton Bailey Market, he opened Gullo’s in 1994 with the idea to create a garden center and nursery with not only the highest quality material at a reasonable price, but also with excellent, personalized customer service. The business is his passion and Russ remains the driving force behind it.
Phil Avino – VP Operations & Supply
Phil has been with Gullo’s since 1999. He has worked in various roles within the business, starting as a landscaper and eventually rising to his current position. Phil’s field of expertise is plant material and he shops the country for the best trees, shrubs, and annuals, as well as overseeing the operation of the business.
Russell M. Gullo – Chief Operating Officer
Russell grew up working in the business and has been with us since our inception in 1994. He quickly took an interest in the business aspect of running Gullo’s, starting as a cashier and spending almost 25 years learning in various roles. He now works behind the scenes in business administration.

Elizabeth Gullo-Larson – GM & Art Director
Elizabeth grew up working in the business and came on full-time in 2009 after completed her degree in design. She rose to her current position after years of working within the store learning the business. Elizabeth is our design expert, in charge of merchandising as well as overseeing operations within the store.
Diane Scherer – Greenhouse Manager
Diane has been working in the garden and landscape industry for 35 years. She holds a degree in landscape design and has been with Gullo’s since 2011. Prior to Gullo’s, she owned and operated her own landscaping company. Diane’s field of expertise is annual flowers, and she oversees and operates our greenhouse department.
Rick Lennertz – Tree & Shrub Manager
Rick is a Certified Nursery Landscape Professional who has a wealth of experience and knowledge, working in the garden and landscape industry for 37 years. He joined Gullo’s in 2009. Rick’s field of expertise is trees and shrubs, and he oversees and operates our tree and shrub department.
Patrick Grant – Tree & Shrub Salesperson
Patrick is an International Society of Aboriculture Certified Arborist, a title he has held for 22 years. He has over 35 years of experience in the tree care industry and is an authority in all facets of tree and shrub knowledge. He brought his wealth of experience and expertise to Gullo’s in 2017.
Tammy Hayden – Perennials Manager
Tammy has been working in the nursery industry for over 30 years. She holds a degree in Floriculture Production and is an authority on all matters related to perennials. Tammy brought her immense experience and knowledge to Gullo’s in 2011 and oversees and operates our perennial department.
